An end to our winter season in Arizona. Thanks for reading along and we will see you in Season II… Route 66 with two bikes, two BMW’s, and one very nice Grand Design 351M!

This was our first experience spending a winter in Arizona. Our time here made for some wonderful times with friends, time hiking in beautiful Sedona, and sight-seeing all of the local monuments including Tuzigoot, Walnut Canyon, and Montezuma Castle.

Tucson, Arizona is a very big city that includes the East and West locations for the Saguaro National Park. Getting out of the city to Mount Lemon was a nice break on the motorcycles.

One of our shortest stops was to the Carlsbad Caverns National Park. We will certainly need to plan more time when we visit New Mexico.

A long time goal for us was to get to Fredericksburg, Texas to ride the iconic roads of the Three Twisted Sisters. A true motorcyclist will not get enough of riding all of the roads in this area!

Our goal of getting to Texas, meeting up with the E3 Camping, and visiting the NRVTA for some needed education was worth our time.

Aubrey, Dallas, Fort Worth, Texas. We enjoyed the time we had with family and friends. The longhorns are majestic in the Fort Worth Stockyards. Motorcycling in Dallas was less inviting so we saved our fuel and energy for Fredericksburg!

Palo Duro Canyon in Amarillo, Texas is a great location for motorcycling, hiking, and sight seeing. Be sure and stop at Cadillac Ranch for a selfie.

Nebraska. Who knew we would have such a good time? Scotts Bluff and Chimney Rock were used as landmarks by those crossing the Oregon and Mormon Trail.

We parked our Grand Design Momentum 31G out on “The Edge” of the Badlands for 6 nights. This was some of the best boon docking we have experienced. The evenings were quiet, the morning walks peaceful, and the motorcycle rides through the National Park were some of our best days… so far!

Wall, South Dakota has a long history of bringing in people for the “Free Ice Water” and 5 Cent Coffee.

Going to Sturgis, South Dakota 2 weeks after the Sturgis Rally left the roads empty and clear for our motorcycling. Get the map. Take the rides. The Black Hills are worth the trip.

Devils Tower is a must stop if you are in the area of this National Park. Be sure and use the KOA or the NP Campground as they both sit at the base of the tower and so worth the effort. We stayed in Pine Haven and had to travel to get to the park.

Our travels take us to Salt Lake City to have the BMW f700GS serviced. A remarkable city for hiking, motorcycling in the mountains, and seeing buffalo at Buffalo Point on Antelope Island. Be sure and visit Park City and the surrounding ski areas.

Crater Lake National Park
