Badlands, South Dakota

Our view from “The Edge” of the Badlands.

Badlands, South Dakota:

Without a doubt one of the best locations along our journey was our time dispersed camping just outside of the Badlands National Park. One cannot put in to words the freedom and independence that you feel spending a full week out on "The Edge" other than to say... inspired!

The National Parks Visitor Centers are always worth a stop.

Keeping quiet for the wildlife.

The color palette changes dramatically as the sun sets.

Points of Interest:

1. Hike: Take advantage of mornings along The Edge. Every day we had the opportunity to step out of the RV and walk for miles.

2. Marvel at the sunsets. Enjoy the peace, quiet, and taking photos of the Rocky Mountain Sheep as they wonder by.

Scenic Motorcycle Routes:

1. Each time we entered the Badlands National Park we chose to ride motorcycles. The roads are in great shape, the views spectacular, and no one is in a hurry. There are several options for riding including well cared for dirt roads. Try heading out to Roberts Prairie Dog Town for a little entertainment!

Riding motorcycles is always a perfect way to view the scenery.

We enjoyed the smooth gravel roads that surround the Badlands National Park.
