The Grand Prismatic Springs in Yellowstone National Park

Rigby, Idaho / Yellowstone:

As the summer began to close in we had difficulty finding an RV location near the Yellowstone National Park entrance. We found a spot in Rigby, Idaho and made the 80 mile trek to Yellowstone by motorcycle. The weather was great and experiencing Yellowstone was so amazing we repeated it the next day! Old Faithful, waterfalls, geysers, and bison are all part of the adventure.

Points of Interest:

1. The Grand Prismatic Spring in Yellowstone National Park is the largest hot spring in the United States and the third largest in the world.

2. Old Faithful is one of nearly 500 geysers in Yellowstone and one of six that routinely erupts.

3. The Grand Canyon of Yellowstone and the picturesque waterfall is worth the stop.

Scenic Motorcycle Routes:

The roads in and around Yellowstone are in perfect condition and make for easy and enjoyable riding. We experienced several wildlife sightings along the way including several bison herds, elk, and deer. One herd was making its way slowly past the line of cars that were waiting patiently when something spooked them. The entire herd turned, stampeding in the opposite direction! My hands were shaking on the handlebars while we anxiously waited for the bison to pass. My intuition was to huddle behind John in hopes of not getting bumped by a buffalo. Motorcycles and bison do not mix. Always use caution when riding near any wildlife!

Buffalo sightings are plenty in the park.
