Great Falls, Montana:

In 2020 we made plans to attend the BMW Rally in Great Falls, Montana. As we all know, Covid was the cause of canceling many events including this one. Leap ahead to 2021: Motorcycles preped and toy hauler packed The Rally became one of our "Big Rocks." We made our home on the grass covered fairgrounds and took part in the BMW Motorcycle Owners Association National Rally. We found ourselves as one of the nearly 5000 BMW riders at this event. We met so many motorcyclists and enjoyed the education from several presentations. An all around Great Time in Great Falls!

Points of Interest:

1. Bike to the "Great Falls Montana Tourism Office" located on Central Avenue. Pick up a map of the local attractions and the bike path that follows the Missouri River. The path continues along the river as you pass through a park, a disc golf course, and the Calumet Montana Refinery. There are multiple museums in this city and we just did not have time for them all!

2.Visit The Chicago, Milwaukee and St. Paul Passenger Depot, located along the Missouri River. It was built in 1915 by the Chicago, Milwaukee, St. Paul and Pacific Railroad.

Scenic Motorcycle Routes:

What started out as "That Dam Ride" trying to find all 5 dams in the Great Falls area we ended up getting detoured by 35 miles of road construction. We were told that Montana has 2 seasons: "Winter and Road Construction!" We overcame the challenge of the dusty, rocky road that eventually led us to Fort Benton. What a terrific side trip this ended up being as we stopped along the Missouri River, took photos of the local fort, and finished the loop following Highway 228 back to Great Falls.

A perfect day for a ride!
