Keep Your RV Clean & Organized!

After several years of travel on the road, there are a few items that are on the “very helpful” list of things to add to your RV experience. Here are the extras that we have come up with. Let us know what you think. 😃

  • In making this RV list we put together just those items that can be obtained on Amazon.

  • We will add to the list over time as we find those “must have” items.

  • Let us know if this helps you in your travels.Caroline ☘️

Aero Cosmetics Waterless RV Cleaner:

  • Aircraft Boat Wash Wax Mop Kit with Deluxe Pole with Bug Scrubber (3' 9" to 9'), No Ladder Needed, Wash, Wax, Dry, Anywhere, Anytime.

  • We purchased ours on Amazon for just over $200.00 almost two years ago and use it every couple of months.

We have cleaner and wax left and it still works great!

  • The blue pads can be laundered and are ready to use again.

Keeping it clean is a challenge!

  • We have used this spray and others to clean the awning. Never an easy task but so worth it!

  • Also available at Camping World or “Black Bird” where we purchased ours in Southern oregon. 😃

Grab the Hose, Soft Car Brush, and Bucket!

  • We were amazed at how dirty our roof got after spending the Winter in Oregon. The edges needed attention and certainly the whole roof needed a gentle cleaning.

  • John is the man when it comes to RV maintenance! The roof of our firth wheel now looks as good as new.

  • Available at Camping World and other local RV dealers. Link to Amazon below if interested.

We recently added the SeaDek RV Step covers to our front and rear steps! 😃

  • We love the step covers as they are so far very comfortable and seem to be a safer option for exit especially on the back aluminum steps.

  • We have added the YouTube to the end of this post. See what you think.

  • This Dek Magic is quite steep in price so you may want to try just a little spray of water or simple soap and water befoe ordering this product.

  • So far we have only needed to spray off with water and our steps look as good as new.

The Sink Shroom:

  • The TUB and SINK Shroom is perfect for your shower and bathroom sinks: They are great!

  • It keeps small items like jewelry from falling into the drain as well as keeping hair and debris out of your grey tanks.

  • We highly recommend these for any RV.

RV Sink and Drain Care:

Add a Sink Drying Rack:

  • The photo shows the sink with the original counter on the left and the “Roll Up” drying rack on the right.

  • We liked the drying rack well enough to remove the heavy sink cover and replace both sides with the roll up style cover.

  • We did cut the ends so that they fit into the sinks ridge rather than over the edges.

  • We like the flexibility of the drying rack. Let us know what you think.

  • Mesh drain for the kitchen sink: Straining extra food and debris before sending water down into your grey tank will help limit build up and smell.

  • Vinyl sink liner for the kitchen sink will limit the small scratches of your stainless steel. We found ours at TJ Max for under $5.00.

Be a Happy Camper!

  • This holding tank treatment has been the absolute best product that we have found to use in our black tanks. This larger container lasts for several months even for living full-time in our RV.

Calgon Bath Beads:

  • 1 Cup of Beads per 1 Gallon water. Pour into your black tank (toilet) and allow to sit for 20-30 minutes.

  • It will act as a surfactant and help remove debris. And it smells good! 😃

  • Fingerprints… Dust… All the dirt goes away with one wipe with the Stainless Steel Wipes!

  • Weiman Stainless Steel Wipes (Large Microfiber Cloth) Removes Fingerprints Residue Water Marks and Grease from Appliances - Works Great on Refrigerators...

REJUVENATE your wood!

  • Have you noticed those small Knicks and scratches on your wood? We have! Especially on the sliding bathroom pocket doors.

  • We try to keep those prominent locations looking nice.

  • This is a similar set we purchased. Be sure and check your inside colors for your best match.

More RV cleaning hints:

  • Gabe’s Cleaners are made specifically for RV and RV finishes and we have found them to be very helpful.

  • Use a disposable foam brush to clean the toilets… and then discard. We purchase them from the Dollar Store.

  • Antibacterial wipes for cleaning laundry rooms and the countertops before folding laundry. 😳

  • Dawn Powerwash Dish Spray is safe to use and cuts down on grease in the grey tank.

  • Ice: Use of a bag of ice down the black tank just before travel can be used as well to help agitate in the tank. And then the ice melts so no extra work or concern. 👍

Organizing your RV for travel:

Having an RV Checklist for loading is a MUST for travel days:

  • We have a printed checklist for our day of travel and includes what to do the day before, landing and unloading!

  • Feel free to send us an e-mail and we will send you our copy in a PDF.

Gladiator 45” Shelf for the Toy Hauler

  • We have added two of these shelves in out Toy Hauler.

  • Install is easy. Please note: there are more products needed to complete the install including wall brackets and screws.

  • These garage shelves are also carried at Lowe’s with all the parts there as well.

  • Our garage has the two Gladiator shelves.

  • We use the 11’ x 16” soft sided storage bins to store our motorcycle helmets, boots, and gear.

  • We use these bins under the bed and the overhead / bunk storage area.

  • Purchase at Walmart for around $10.00 each. There are way too many organizers on Amazon and we found these to be sturdy, reliable, and economical. 👍😎

Soft sided storage for RV use:

  • Try IKEA or TJ Maxx for soft sided RV storage or light weight bins to stay organized in the pantry and keep items from moving during travel.

  • I always prefer a soft sided bin in order to eliminate weight and possible scratched to the paint, shelves, or walls.

Using Foam noodles in the RV:

  • Securing the shower doors for travel days.

  • Placing under the bottom drawer of the oven to keep it from opening during travel.

  • Our window treatments would fall during travel so we block in place using a foam noodle cut to size.

  • Place a noodle between the door and the bolt-it-on to prevent the garage doors from opening during travel.

  • Place a noodle between the patio door and toy hauler garage door to prevent rattle during travel.

  • Keep an extra noodle handy when a need arises.

Purchase at your local dollar store or on the Amazon link below:
